It is with great sadness that the club announces the passing of Derrick Austin after a long illness.
Derrick worked tirelessly for the club as a much respected umpire and the club’s Disciplinary Officer, and also played a major role in the organisation and running of the IWHC Hockey Festival over many years. Derrick moved to the Isle of Wight with Alison in the mid 1990s having enjoyed a long career as a player and umpire, undertaking management roles with the Bank of England HC, Surrey HA and England Mixed with Alison.
The club’s thoughts and condolences are with Alison, Jim and family. RIP Derrick.
