Recap
On a sunny Saturday morning Ladies 2’s traveled to Portsmouth, to play at HMS Temaraire. We set up early after arriving a few minutes early and Aly Townend scored a goal in the first few minutes from a short corner. Everyone played well for the rest of the first half with great balls from Lucy Townend, Lola Marfleet, Megan Turner and Poppy Gallerwood with great runs from Emmy Breach and Alice Aldridge-Snell, therefore dominating the first half but unable to increase the scoreline.
In the second half the team continued to work hard and soon enough Megan Bridger scored from a pass from Aly Townend. The Island did not stop though and continued pressing hard and pushing up high. Megan Bridger scored another two goals with passes from Gracie Boyd and Cleo McMeechan during the second half even with the opposition’s defence sitting back to keep it out the D and their goal keeper getting sent off with a red card. Overall a very successful game and great team performance, winning 4-0. Wightlink Player of the Match was Lola Marfleet for her amazing tackles and play.
