A new look side faced the opposition and despite the final result, a lot of positives could be taken away after the final whistle. The match allowed us to try numerous formations, and having gone down 6-0 in the first half we put in a stronger performance only losing the second half 2-0. The island were unlucky not to have capitalised on a number of chances in front of goal with Steve Woodford, Samuel Challis and Pete Wright coming close. The midfield of Tomaz Turjanica, Wightlink Man of the Match Lukas Fuchs, Bailey Woodford and Joe Arnold found their feet in second half whilst new captain Stuart Allen, Lewis Heaven-Gandy, Patrick Butt and Scott Bashford in goal did well to limit the damage by successfully defending a barrage of penalty corners.
The Island face Havant at home this Saturday starting at 12:30 so please do come and support the team if you can.
